I ended up having to circle back to the dealership four separate times just to get in front of the sales manager for the account executive role.

Each visit felt a bit like restarting the process. The assistant manager had scheduled a final interview, but when I arrived, the sales manager acted like he hadn’t been told I was coming.

During the interview, I was seated and then watched the conversation get derailed right away—the sales manager was on the phone with his boss for roughly 15 minutes about something that wasn’t really relevant to the interview. After that, the interview wrapped up fairly quickly. At the end, he told me he’d already filled the open position, but that he’d keep me in mind if they hired again later.
