In mid-January, the process felt very difficult mainly because the interview topics didn’t match the role description or my background.

Mismatch-heavy technical interview — Although the role seemed frontend/JS-focused, I was asked in-depth SQL questions plus microservices in a cloud environment. When I asked for clarification, the interviewer essentially restated the question and didn’t demonstrate familiarity with the terms being used. Outcome: No offer, and the takeaway was that topic mismatch and confusion made it hard to demonstrate my fit.
