I was scheduled for a recruiter call first, and then I prepped for a coding assessment interview because I was told it would be LeetCode-style.

I studied for over a week, expecting that familiar format.

When I joined, the assessment turned into something more like building an API and calling it, and that mismatch threw me off. Between the nerves and a dev environment issue that caused problems for me, I felt my performance was only so-so. The interviewer also had a stern demeanor with a disapproving attitude at times.

I asked for follow-up and received an automated “rate your interview experience” email instead. Overall it was a bad experience for me because the format and setup didn’t align with what I had been told.
