Atlassian·Software Engineer

Atlassian Software Engineer interview experience

RemoteCandidate report, summarized by Dataford

I ended up looking closely at Atlassian’s early technical screens, especially the style of coding rounds they might run.

Part of the uncertainty for me was whether the process would lean into browser coding and JavaScript-focused questions, since those are pretty specific compared to standard algorithmic tasks.

At the same time, I saw that there was typically a set of rounds that included coding and then system design, which made the overall pipeline feel like it would evaluate both implementation details and bigger-picture thinking.

Even before fully finishing the sequence, I was thinking about how I’d explain trade-offs in a code-focused round while also being ready for a longer system design discussion.
