Atlassian·Software Engineer

Atlassian Software Engineer interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had an onsite coming up at Atlassian for an SDE role, with two main rounds: DSA and code design.

The way it was laid out made the format feel pretty structured, and it helped me focus on what each interviewer was likely testing.

The DSA portion was about algorithmic problem solving, while the code design round was more about how I would reason through structuring behavior in code and explaining trade-offs. Knowing both rounds existed ahead of time made the day feel manageable.

Even though I was still waiting to actually complete it, I felt like the expectations were clear enough that I could mentally prepare for the switch in mode between rounds.
