After an initial 1-hour external round focused on coding and generic software skills, the rest of the process was done through multiple Atlassian rounds—two coding rounds, one system design, and two soft-skills rounds.

I received feedback after the two coding interviews and then more after the whole sequence. The communication cadence felt fairly intentional, but the entire process still dragged on.

What surprised me most was the feeling that the full performance review didn’t really happen until the very last round. Even though earlier feedback indicated issues weren’t necessarily catastrophic, I still had a sense I could be rejected after finishing everything—exactly how it played out. By the end, the process felt lengthy and somewhat unforgiving to mistakes made earlier in the loop.
