At one point, I was given a preparation guide that described using a local development environment with debugging and scaling considerations, and it was framed as an “open Internet” style interview. When the actual coding interview started, the interviewer pushed me into using CoderPad and the challenge had pre-typed scaffolding, which made the experience feel different from what was promised. The task was to implement an API rate limiter with specific constraints, and I talked through options like sliding window and token-bucket approaches, then implemented a sliding window solution.
