Kansas City, MOPosted Mar 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for an Account Executive role where the process became inconsistent after background checks.

Pre-screening / offer stage — I was contacted and told I had the job before I even formally applied, then proceeded through background checks.
Post-checks follow-up — After the hiring manager’s initial outreach and offer, communication went quiet and I was never told why it stalled. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway is that things can reverse even after you pass the early gates, so it’s worth confirming next steps in writing.
