I had two phone calls and later a Teams meeting, and during that process I got the impression they weren’t fully aligned on what they wanted.

At one point, I was told I was too experienced for the role, and it gave me a sense that HR and the department had internal communication problems.

The conversations themselves weren’t characterized as rude or chaotic, but the inconsistency in what they were looking for was hard to ignore. I didn’t receive an offer, and the biggest reflection I had was that the uncertainty on their side ended up shaping the experience more than anything technical or role-specific.
