I had a single recruiter phone conversation that felt more like a real discussion than a formal interview.

It lasted about twenty to thirty minutes, and the recruiter walked me through what the day-to-day would actually look like for a business development role—prospecting, cold calling, and building relationships with carriers and shippers.

We also talked about culture: it sounded fast-paced and competitive, but with a team-oriented feel and a lot of training for new hires. I was able to share my background and explain why I was interested in sales, including why logistics specifically pulled me in. The recruiter was professional, friendly, and pretty transparent about what they expected.
