Applied Materials Software Engineer interview experience

Negative

The overall interview setup was comfortable and not overly technical, but the HR contractor experience really soured it for me.

The contractor didn’t show up twice without any explanation, and when we did connect, the tone on the phone felt lazy and rude.

What the process did focus on instead was my project experience, especially anything related to semiconductor work, plus how well I fit with relationships from my previous worker and manager. Since it was online, the scheduling ended up stretching into more days than I expected, which made it tiring.

Even though the technical side wasn’t intense, the unprofessional HR handling and the drawn-out schedule meant I didn’t end up with an offer.
