Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My coding interview centered on a key-value store with nested transactions, and it felt like a classic kind of interview problem—something I’d seen before in multiple forms.

I was asked to produce a solution that correctly handles transactions nested inside other transactions, and the approach I used relied on a stack to track the transaction boundaries and state as commands came in.

The round itself was shorter than most I’ve experienced there—about 45 minutes instead of the usual 60. Rather than feeding commands one by one, the input arrived as a single bundle of commands, so I had to manage the whole flow and parsing logic myself. The interviewer was relaxed, which helped, and I remember feeling like the tone stayed calm even as the logic got detailed.
