I started with a short recruiter chat where we discussed what the role was actually about and which skills they cared about.

After that, the recruiter set up a technical interview with the hiring manager.

That hiring manager round felt conversational and grounded in my approach. They asked technical questions that were tied to my thought process and how I approached issues, not just the final answers. Overall, it felt like I was being evaluated for how I think under discussion. I eventually got an offer, and the experience left me feeling like the process was fair and human rather than purely transactional.
