Apple Software Engineer interview experience

Posted Jul 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

For an off-campus junior SWE application, my first hurdle was an online assessment.

The OA included a dynamic-programming style problem about “Maximum Weight in Two Bags” plus a grid-based letter-path problem.

Later, the process moved into technical interview questions that covered my resume and fundamentals like basic Java, along with Coin Change I and Coin Change II. It also pulled in broader concepts such as operating systems, OOP, and system design questions. I remember feeling like I wasn’t sure what to expect afterward, since I didn’t have strong intuition about callbacks, but the content clearly mapped to both fundamentals and practical problem-solving.
