Anonymous Software Engineer interview experience

The company’s financial situation came up, and that framed the conversation around discipline and work performance.

Instead of centering purely on coding, they asked about management skills and leadership qualities—how I’d handle training, reporting, and proper documentation. It made the whole interview feel like an evaluation of execution habits and responsibility rather than technical depth.

The difficulty was difficult, and the challenge was that the questions demanded concrete thinking about how I’d run and support work day to day, especially under pressure. I didn’t get an offer.
