The recruiter call was less about detailed experience and more about whether I had the “grit” to deal with rejection over the phone.

They wanted to hear why the items on my resume showed I could actually do the work, but the real theme was resilience—how I’d respond when prospects shut me down.

It felt like an honest screening of my mindset. I didn’t walk out feeling like I’d done a typical skills test; it was more like a quick pulse-check on whether I could stay steady through the most uncomfortable parts of the job. I ended up getting an offer, and what I took away was that they cared as much about attitude and endurance as they did about what was on my resume.
