My path was shorter and less structured, with early screens that either didn’t move forward or exposed clear fit issues.

Phone screening / recruiter chat — A brief check of basic fit and logistics (sometimes including licensing/pay-structure glimpses), usually about qualification rather than deep technical work.
Single interview round — An interview that stayed behavioral-only or very lightweight; in one case it was in person and focused on explaining the role and confirming it was a career path.
Early rejection / no further rounds — I was told quickly that I wasn’t a fit or stopped after the first stage; in another case, the process ended after a recruiter interaction that felt difficult.
