Ameriprise Financial Analyst interview experience

Bethesda, MDPosted Jan 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I experienced a drawn-out Ameriprise process for the Financial Analyst role, where repeated follow-ups or long, personality-heavy steps didn’t end in an offer.

Multi-round interviews / panel-style involvement — I completed many interviews with the team and was asked for references.
Extended decision period — I followed up repeatedly over weeks, but kept hearing they were still deciding.
Additional testing / commitment screening — In a separate iteration of the process, I also encountered lots of personality-testing questions and a strong emphasis on long-term commitment. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, and the takeaway was that timing, fit-for-commitment signals, and responsiveness mattered as much as interview performance.
