Minneapolis, MNPosted Jan 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through an early, relatively light-touch Ameriprise interview path for the Financial Analyst role, with mostly behavioral questions and basic assessments over a few steps.

Phone screening(s) — Two short phone conversations focused on getting to know me, my background, and my goals.
Assessment / practical work — Basic Excel questions in addition to the standard behavioral format.
In-person or follow-up interview — A final conversation-style interview that stayed straightforward and focused on fit rather than deep technical depth. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, and the overall experience felt easy enough—though it was also harder to clearly stand out.
