My process included an assessment centre that felt structured and deliberately spaced out.

I did two interviews there: one that focused on my CV and relevant skills, and another that focused on motivation and fit. The motivation part covered why the role made sense to me and why American Express.

On the day, the flow was clear and they gave me an outline in advance, which reduced uncertainty. It wasn’t framed as overly technical, but it did cover both capability and alignment. By the time it was over, I felt like I’d shown the range they wanted—whether or not it ultimately went in my favor.
