I got pulled into the process through the SHPE conference, and it was refreshingly concise.

I had a single virtual Zoom round that focused mainly on technical questions. The interviewer didn’t just want answers; they wanted me to explain my problem-solving approach for the specific problems they brought up.

Because it was short and to the point, I didn’t get the sense of a long multi-stage gauntlet. The session felt like a focused check of how I think through technical work and communicate the steps. I left feeling like I understood what they were looking for, but I still didn’t end up receiving an offer.
