I walked into the interview with a lot of confidence based on my preparation, but the day didn’t turn into the kind of smooth technical discussion I expected.

The process opened with an intro and moved quickly into technical questioning, then shifted toward HR-style questions. The interviewer asked repeatedly about my projects, and it became clear that they wanted details I hadn’t fully backed up.

The technical part felt broad and demanding. I was asked to explain my understanding of programming and core computer science concepts like OOPs (including things like encapsulation and abstraction), C++ exception handling details, and a mix of SQL fundamentals including DDL/DML/DCL/TCL and joins. It didn’t stay at “tell me the definitions” level
