My interview for the Amazon SDE role felt pretty straightforward compared to horror stories I’d heard.

I only did a single technical interview, and it was basically LeetCode. The questions weren’t presented as anything extremely crazy—more like mediums and easies.

What surprised me was how much it came down to whether a DP question showed up at all. When it did, I didn’t manage to make it work, and that seemed to be the reason the session didn’t go in my favor. I didn’t get an offer, and I left with the feeling that the process was less about broad system thinking and more about whether I could execute cleanly on common problem patterns.
