After the online stage, I moved into in-person interviews that started heavily with behavioral questions tied to Amazon’s leadership principles.

My first conversation was with the hiring manager, and we spent a lot of time on my experience and projects. The behavioral portion dominated the beginning, and toward the end I was given a system design coding problem, which surprised me because it mixed design and hands-on problem solving.

After that, I interviewed with a lead engineer and then another engineer. The technical round was more LeetCode-style: I had to work through a coding problem while explaining my thought process, not just arriving at an answer. Both interviewers wanted a discussion around my solution, so I kept walking
