Amazon Software Engineer interview experience

Posted Sep 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My Amazon SDE intern experience centered on the online assessment, and I ended up feeling pretty unsettled by how it went.

I took the OA and immediately felt the structure was different from “just practice until you can solve LeetCode.” One problem went okay, but the second one didn’t click the way I needed it to, and I started second-guessing my direction while I was still thinking through the assessment.

I remember feeling like the OA had a direct coding focus with DSA-style questions, including an array problem, and the outcome didn’t come with much immediate clarity afterward. After submitting, I waited for further updates and didn’t see quick follow-through, which made the whole process harder
