Amazon Software Engineer interview experience

I had two coding problems to work through, and the main theme was choosing the right strategy rather than just getting the syntax right.

One of the questions asked for the minimum operations needed to reduce an integer to 0. The interviewer pushed me toward an optimal approach, and the problem felt very “think through the method” heavy from the start. Overall, the experience was straightforward in format, but it clearly tested whether I could reason to the correct solution path.
