My interview for the role was much more principles- and simulation-based than I expected.

It consisted of two one-hour interviews, and both of them leaned hard into Amazon’s leadership principles.

I had prompts mapped to multiple principles, including things like Deliver Results, Earns Trust, Dive Deep, and Ownership. On top of that, because the position was sales-focused, there was a simulated pitch scenario where I had to walk through adopting FBA for a client. That part felt like a different kind of “engineering interview” in the sense that it tested how I structured a message and handled the scenario, not just whether I could solve a technical problem.

The process didn’t end
