I went through rounds and felt like I cleared each stage, then suddenly I received an email that the position was closed.

There was no meaningful explanation—just a halt after more than a month of effort.

When I reached out to ask for clarity, I was told the hiring manager had hired a friend. It was frustrating because it made the process feel like it had an end point that wasn’t really tied to my performance.

Overall, the hardest part wasn’t only being rejected—it was the lack of communication and the way the timeline and decision suddenly disconnected from the work I’d put in.
