My process kicked off with a two-hour technical assessment that included two questions, followed by a long behavioral assessment that lasted about an hour and a half.

After that, I had three technical interviews. Even in the technical portion, there was a strong thread tying the conversation back to Amazon Leadership Principles.

In those technical interviews, I was asked to talk about myself and my projects, and then connect what I did to leadership behaviors. It wasn’t just about getting to correct solutions; I felt like I had to communicate my decisions clearly and tie them to the principles they cared about. The whole thing was difficult for me, and I didn’t get an offer.
