My first step was a recruiter-style screening and then a testing stage that felt very structured.

I took a HackerRank round and it contained multiple coding questions of medium difficulty, followed by a technical discussion. After that, I went into additional technical evaluation where the questions were tied back to my current work and to core stacks like Spark, SQL, and Python.

Some of the testing components also included MCQs—Java and Spring Boot showed up as part of one of the written parts—so it wasn’t only data engineering theory. During the technical back-and-forth, I discussed my project and then answered follow-ups that focused on Spark operations plus SQL and Python concepts
