I started with a few phone calls where the focus was pretty straightforward—my education, skills, previous experience, and whether my availability fit what they needed.

After that, I had a Skype interview with the client, and my supervisor and the most direct senior engineer joined as well.

The questions leaned heavily on my educational background and my prior experience, especially in the area of Controls and Software. I remember it feeling fairly direct and experience-driven; there wasn’t a lot of ambiguity about what they were probing—they were trying to map my background to the work they expected me to do.
