I went through an informal initial interview with a manager, and then I was sent to another, more formal interview with a different manager.

The second interview was the problem—he seemed completely disorganized and didn’t have proper interviewing skills.

I left thinking about how he expected employees to recruit for the team when he wasn’t able to run an interview process himself. It didn’t feel like a role where I could easily win on competence.

I wasn’t offered the position, and the experience stuck with me because it felt like the process wasn’t taken seriously. My reflection was that competence wasn’t just something they asked about—it was missing in how the interview was handled.
