Pittsburgh, PAPosted Sep 2016 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I applied for what I thought was an engineering internship interview through campus scheduling, and I was genuinely excited when I got selected.

I spent several days preparing for the interview, even taking time away from work, and I was ready to talk about my research and background.

Midway through my introduction, the interviewer stopped the conversation and told me I wasn’t suited for the position. The explanation was that the interview was actually only for graduating business students applying for a full-time management track. The part that really threw me was that the listing didn’t make that clear, and the screening process seemed to have missed that I wasn’t the right category.

That mismatch left a bad taste in my mouth
