I went through what felt like a frustrating, overly manual start before the interview even began.

I had to complete a detailed job application with references before my on-site interview, which meant I had to contact my references prematurely just to move forward.

During the interview itself, I ended up performing really well and answered the technical questions. Still, I didn’t get an offer, and what stuck with me was the impression that the hiring manager had already decided what they wanted and wasn’t evaluating new information. The whole experience left me feeling like fit and culture alignment were treated as more important than demonstrated skill and potential.
