The most unsettling part of my interview wasn’t the technical question—it was the interaction.

During the call, the camera was muted, and the interviewer didn’t really allow me to communicate normally while I coded. It turned into a very one-sided coding session.

As I worked, I eventually came up with what I believed was the optimal solution. When I got there, I was told that it wasn’t optimal, which immediately threw me off and made it hard to recalibrate in real time.

I didn’t get an offer. Looking back, the technical feedback felt hard to interpret because the format constrained how much I could clarify and verify assumptions while coding.
