Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I was given a spec to implement an exchange-style order matching engine.

The problem centered on operations like BUY, SELL, CANCEL, MODIFY, and PRINT, and I had to write the logic to handle each operation according to the provided rules.

What stood out was how much of the interview was about translating a set of trading actions into consistent state changes. It felt straightforward conceptually, but the correctness requirements were tight because every operation needed to interact properly with the matching behavior.
