Airbnb Software Engineer interview experience

The question itself was difficult, and even though I knew it wouldn’t be easy, the way we talked through it helped. We discussed the problem and solved it together rather than it feeling like I was trapped alone at a whiteboard.

The interview lasted about forty-five minutes, and everything went smoothly. The question wasn’t easy at all, so I still had to focus, but the collaboration made it feel manageable.

I ended the session feeling better than I expected given how hard the prompt was. It was a good sign that the process was evaluating substance, not just speed.
