I had a hiring manager interview where the conversation centered on my interest in the product the manager was leading, along with what feedback I could share about it.

The discussion felt fairly direct, and I appreciated that it wasn’t only abstract role talk.

At the end, the manager said they wanted to move me forward and told me to wait for the recruiter to reach out. That last step made the process feel a little unclear and dependent on scheduling, but it was still a good sign that the conversation went positively.

I didn’t get an offer tied to this experience, yet the main takeaway was that I came across well in the product-and-role fit conversation.
