I went through an AMCAT-written test that covered both technical and non-technical content.

A big part of it was being expected to know my own CV well, because questions were likely to connect back to what I had listed.

The technical questions I saw were practical and specific—things like pumps, LMTD, Bernoulli’s theorem, and heat transfer coefficient, plus how pumps work. The questions felt quite easy and grounded in practical knowledge rather than abstract theory. I didn’t get an offer, but the test itself was manageable and didn’t feel like it was trying to trick me.
