Addepar Software Engineer interview experience

Negative

New York, NYPosted Apr 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The early stages felt close to what I’d expected: I spoke with a recruiter, then had a technical interview that included class-design style discussion.

The interviewer’s energy was noticeably low, and the tone made the questions feel heavier than they should have.

The technical topic itself centered on reconciling transaction history to validate data correctness. I struggled to see how the conversation was going to turn into something collaborative, and the interviewer felt unengaged rather than problem-solving with me.

I left with a strong negative impression and ultimately didn’t want to move forward from that experience. My decision wasn’t about failing one question so much as how the interaction shaped the whole process.
