After a recruiter conversation, I ended up with a technical interview that had both a manager and a team lead in the room.

The team lead drove most of the questioning, and it felt like a pretty straightforward, positive interaction overall. The vibe was genuinely good, and I appreciated that the interviewers were engaged and made the process feel coherent.

What ultimately pulled me back wasn’t how the interview went, but the role structure I was offered to pursue. I decided not to move forward because I wasn’t comfortable leaving a full-time position for a roughly six-month contract slot. Even with a good experience, that tradeoff just didn’t feel right to me, and I passed.
