I went in through HR scheduling and then completed three rounds of interviews, clearing all of them.

The process felt like it was going well enough that I believed I was moving toward an offer.

After that, HR told me there had been a miscommunication about compensation—their maximum budget was lower than what was discussed. It was such an abrupt change that it felt like the earlier conversations were misleading, and it left a strong sense that my time and effort were wasted.

I didn’t receive an offer, and what bothered me most wasn’t just the rejection—it was the mismatch in stated CTC expectations after I’d already finished everything.
