I hit a trickier technical format for an Abbott Software Engineer role where the test itself felt straightforward, but the live IDE experience made it harder than it should’ve been.

Technical test (live in an IDE) — The coding task was described as trivial, but I had to run it in a non-standard environment with limited IDE assistance, making iteration awkward.
Workthrough / demonstration of knowledge — I had to rely on my understanding rather than typical compile/debug helpers. Outcome: No offer, and my takeaway was that environment constraints mattered as much as the underlying problem.
