Sort Objects by Property | Dataford Interview Questions

Grow Therapy displays provider records in different orders, such as by name, rating, or years of experience. Write a function that returns the records sorted in ascending order by a specified property.

Formal Specification

Implement sort_records(records, property_name), where records is a list of dictionaries and property_name is a string naming a key present in every dictionary. Return a new list ordered by that property's value. Do not modify the original list. Assume all values for the selected property are mutually comparable. If two records have equal values, preserve their original relative order.

Constraints

0 <= len(records) <= 10^4
Each record contains property_name
All selected property values are mutually comparable
The original records list must not be modified
