I applied for Tubi’s Builder program and ended up going through two interviews: a coding round followed by a system design round. Even before the first technical session, the process felt off—when I got instructions, I was told the first interview would be pseudocoding, but it turned out to be more like a LeetCode-style problem.
The coding portion went well enough to move me forward, but I was ultimately eliminated after the system design interview. What stood out most was how confusing the timing and feedback were. The guide portal listed multiple dates for the timeline and feedback, yet I received an automated rejection nearly three weeks later, despite the implication that I should have heard back sooner about the system design round. I reached out to the recruiter afterward and got silence.

Average Neutral Toronto, ON
My journey started with the standard screening to technical interview sequence, but the flow got disrupted when the recruiter wasn’t available, so my manager/panel screening was rescheduled. Even with that hiccup, the technical session itself stood out because the interviewer was genuinely helpful.
During the technical round, I worked through problems and the interviewer actively walked me through what they were looking for, adding insights and pointing me toward docs to review the errors. That support made the feedback feel more “learn as you go” than purely evaluative, and it definitely reduced the stress that usually comes with an interview like that.
