My process started when a recruiter followed up with me, and even though I didn’t get to have a typical human recruiter conversation before jumping into the work, the recruiter was very responsive once I was in motion. The hardest part was the take-home assessment: I had to record a presentation about an AI project I’d worked on. It wasn’t presented as an easy warm-up—more like a chance for them to see how I organize an idea and communicate it.
I didn’t spend a long time waiting in the sense that scheduling was smooth, but there was a clear shift into asynchronous evaluation pretty quickly. That presentation format ended up being the main way I was evaluated, and it pushed me to be more deliberate than I expected about structure and clarity.

Average Positive United States
My interviews focused heavily on product sense with a practical bend. I spoke with a business manager where I went through my resume and past experience in detail, including how I handled specific questions and how I think about algorithm-level considerations. It wasn’t just abstract PM talk—I got pulled into scenarios around user malicious behavior and how I’d prevent it, which forced me to connect product decisions with real safety and user-impact concerns.
The other part of the process that made a difference was that my team fit seemed to depend on whether I understood what was actually happening inside TikTok’s product. That showed up through how relevant and direct the questions felt in relation to Ads and what I knew about the app.
