My process felt genuinely difficult from the start. After a recruiter-style screening, I hit a technical round focused on hard LeetCode problems, including questions that required deeper thinking like trie and DFS-style approaches. Even when I understood the concepts, the pace and complexity made it hard to settle into a comfortable rhythm.
Then I went into a system design round that stayed technical and broadened the scope beyond just designing something end-to-end. There were also additional technical questions mixed in, plus some behavioral prompts. By the time I finished, I had the feeling the bar was high for the internship—tougher than I expected—and I couldn’t quite shake the sense that the overall difficulty level was what determined the outcome.

After talking with a recruiter, I moved into a set of fairly technical rounds. The process had a practical feel: LeetCode-style coding questions (mostly medium) paired with system design questions that required me to explain my thinking out loud, not just land on an answer. During those rounds, the interviewers were supportive and would steer the discussion if I seemed to be going off track, which made it less stressful than I expected.
Later, I also saw a more intense behavioral/hiring-manager conversation, where the focus turned to how I navigated stakeholders and how I’d handled situations like ops-heavy work. I remember feeling like the interviewers were actually interested in my process and how I worked through ambiguity.
