My experience had a lot more friction than the others. First, I noticed how quickly the recruiter involved people around me—my current manager was contacted, and it came across as seriously unprofessional. Instead of focusing on the fit and the role, the conversation veered into compensation talk with an “eat what you kill” kind of framing, which felt harsh and overly salesy.
Later, I ran into a communications problem at the other end of the process. I went through an interview that felt like it went well, then got told they chose someone else. The part that bothered me most was the lack of clarity after that, especially since the job posting stayed active. When I followed up, it still didn’t add up, and I would’ve preferred an honest explanation rather than feeling like I’d been brushed off.

Average Positive United States
My process started with early recruiter contact and then moved into a live screen on video where we covered my background and industry experience. From there, I stepped into a series of deeper conversations with sales leadership and HR, where the questions became more role-specific and less general. The tone stayed professional throughout, and I felt like the interviewers actually had context for what I’d done before.
What stood out was how much they built around real sales work. I ended up with a role-focused exercise, and there was also a personality questionnaire included in the mix. On top of that, I had a ride-along with an actual sales consultant, which made the day-to-day feel concrete instead of hypothetical. Even though it was demanding, it never felt sloppy—more like they were trying to see how I’d operate in the field.
