I had a fairly fast, multi-round process where the recruiting side kept things organized but the content became progressively more work-heavy. It started with an HR screening call, then I moved into hiring-manager and team rounds. The key twist was a take-home: I only got it after passing the first round, and then I had to present it back in the next round.
Once I was in, I noticed a blend of technical expectations and practical testing. In one set of interviews, the questions pulled directly from what I’d listed on my resume and included puzzles too, and they wanted me to be ready with coding-style thinking, SQL, and OOP concepts. In another version of the same overall arc, I dealt with two more technical rounds—one focused on technical skills and another on softer skills—plus general knowledge around BI and AI tooling and newer analytics methods and algorithms.

Average Neutral London, England
My process kicked off with a recruiter connection and quickly moved into a series of interview rounds that felt calibrated toward communication and delivery. I went through behavioral-style conversations across multiple stages, and then I hit a case study centered on an M&A scenario. After the case, I had to prepare and present something to the whole team, and the amount of slide work surprised me.
In total, the timeline was about a few weeks, and the intensity was less about trick questions and more about how I structured the story, defended the logic, and explained my thinking in a way that others could follow. The team also seemed to like depth in the way I talked about my past—covering my background and experiences—but I didn’t get the sense it was purely academic. It was very “walk us through it” rather than “prove it with theory.”
