After applying, I got an interview invitation quickly and the process moved fast after that. My first step was a recruiter-style HR phone screen, and then I spoke with the hiring manager. Next came a panel-style interview stretch where I met with multiple interviewers back to back, including a larger group panel format followed by additional individual interviews within the same day.
What stood out was how anchored everything was to my science. I had to give a research presentation that walked through my work and connected it to my career plan, and the questions that followed dug into what I actually did and why. In the onsite-style segment, senior leaders like an executive director and director-level people were present during the seminar discussion, and later I also had one-on-one conversations with senior and principal scientists plus other directors. A lot of the talk stayed focused on my research experiences and what I wanted to develop next, with some behavioral questions sprinkled in.

Average Positive Rahway, NJ
My process felt straightforward and well-organized from the start, and it moved quickly once interviews were scheduled. After early rounds with the hiring manager and then HR, I went onsite for a full day that included both seminars and a dense sequence of panel and individual discussions. I also got a lab tour as part of the onsite experience.
During the onsite day, I delivered research presentations and then bounced into multiple back-to-back formats—panels with a couple interviewers at once and several one-on-one meetings afterward. The day involved people at different levels, from directors/managers to scientists who were more directly connected to the day-to-day work, and I had a chance to talk with lab members as well. Lunch became part of the flow rather than a break from the interview; the conversations stayed relevant to my experiences and how I fit the group.
